Fortenberry to Attend White House Ceremony Recognizing Lincoln Student

Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry will join President Bush at the White House in recognizing Allyson Lien of Humann Elementary School in Lincoln as a 2005 winner of the Presidents Environmental Youth Award.

Allyson, age 11, is the award winner for Environmental Protection Agency region 7, which includes all of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. Her award-winning project involved groundwater education and program development, and included participating in the development of a new even for the Science Olympiad called Awesome Aquifers.

The Presidents Environmental Youth Award is an annual award given to students around the country who complete outstanding environmental projects. Each year winning projects are selected from each of the EPAs ten regions.
