Fortenberry Meets with Iraq Deputy Prime Minister

Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry released the following statement today after a meeting with Iraq Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih:

"The Iraqi Prime Minister informed us that parliament has appropriately changed course and will forgo the proposed extended vacation. This is the right decision. The situation in Iraq remains dangerous, difficult, and very fluid. The parliament has an urgent job: facilitate the rapid stabilization of Iraq and make real political progress."
