Washington, DC - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today applauded the passage of H.R. 5140, the Recovery Rebates and Economic Stimulus for the American People Act.
“With many economic indicators trending downward, it is important that Congress acts quickly. An essential component of the House temporary stimulus package will target assistance to the middle class and small business entrepreneurs, who create most of the jobs in the country,” said Fortenberry.
“I am pleased that the broadening of the small business expensing provision, also known as section 179, from $125,000 to $250,000, is part of this important legislation. This will help small businesses speed up investments in equipment and machinery, making tomorrow’s decisions today. I called for this provision, along with various others, during the crafting of the economic stimulus package.”
