Fortenberry Announces Military Academy Nominees

Twelve Area Students Receive Nominations to Top Military Academies

Washington, DC - United States Congressman Jeff Fortenberry selected 12 students from eastern Nebraska to receive nominations to America’s top military academies.  

“A military academy appointment is a notable achievement.  Nominees must show leadership, strength of intellect and character, and an intense desire to serve our nation,” Fortenberry said.  “I am pleased to nominate these young men and women for military academy appointments this year.”

Following are the nominees:

Christopher Anderson from Louisville High School.  Christopher is the son of Donald and Ronda Anderson and has been nominated to the United States Air Force, Naval, and Military Academies.

Andrew Castro from Lincoln North Star High School.  Andrew is the son of Reynaldo and Tracy Castro and has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy.

Kristen Dutcher is home-schooled at Humboldt.  Kristen is the daughter of Andy and Brenda Dutcher and has been nominated to the United States Air Force and Merchant Marine Academies.

Timothy Guenther from Lincoln Pius X High School.  Timothy is the son of Ron and Teresa Guenther and has been nominated to the United States Air Force, Military, Naval, and Merchant Marine Academies.

Robert Hall from Norfolk Catholic High School.  Robert is the son of Mark and Kathy Hall and has been nominated to the United States Military, Air Force, and Naval Academies.

Phil Kocher from Lincoln Southwest High School.  Phil is the son of Mike and Jodi Kocher and has been nominated to the United States Air Force, Military, and Naval Academies.
 
Charles “Chad” Lewis from Lincoln Lutheran High School.  Chad is the son of Charles and Debbie Lewis and has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy.

Christopher Lewis from Lincoln Lutheran High School.  Christopher is the son of Charles and Debbie Lewis and has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy.

Mitchell Liberty from Falls City High School.  Mitchell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Liberty and has been nominated to the United States Air Force and Naval Academies.

Park Sloup from Lincoln Southwest High School.  Park is the son of Steve and Lori Sloup and has been nominated to the United States Military Academy.

Weston Woldt from Lincoln East High School.  Weston is the son of Wayne and Holly Woldt and has been nominated to the United States Air Force Academy.

Joshua Wood is home-schooled at Roca.  Joshua is the son of David and Janie Wood and has been nominated to the United States Naval, Air Force, and Military Academies.

The academies will now consider each nominee for an appointment.

“I am confident these individuals will represent Nebraska well in their future endeavors,” Fortenberry said.  “Please join me in congratulating them on their exceptional achievements.”
