Congressman Fortenberry Congratulates Fulbright Winners

Washington, DC - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today congratulated nine individuals from eastern Nebraska who have received a Fulbright award.

“Receiving a Fulbright award is a very prestigious accomplishment.  Recipients must demonstrate not only academic and professional qualifications, but also leadership abilities,” Fortenberry said. 

The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, in honor of the late Senator J. William Fulbright.  It provides scholars and students the opportunity to study and teach in nations abroad. 

Following are the recipients:

Alexandra Basolo.  Alexandra, a professor at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Italy as part of the Scholar Exchange.  Her field of study is Biological Sciences.

Sean Golden.  Sean, a student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Moldova as part of the Student Exchange.  His field of study is Economics.

Elvis Heinrichs. Elvis, adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Brazil as part of the Scholar Exchange.  His field of study is Agriculture.

Emily Jordening.  Emily, a student at Doane College, will be going to Germany as part of the Student Exchange.  Her field of study is Communications.

Elizabeth Musil.  Elizabeth, a student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Germany as part of the Student Exchange.  Her field of study is Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Noushan Noureddini.  Noushan, a student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Romania as part of the Student Exchange.  His field of study is Political Science.

Lindsay Priefert.  Lindsay, a student at Nebraska Wesleyan University, will be going to Indonesia as part of the Student Exchange.  Her field of study is Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Peter Revesz.  Peter, a professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be going to Greece as part of the Scholar Exchange.  His field of study is Computer Science.

Sarah Schaffer.  Sarah, a student at Nebraska Wesleyan University, will be going to Chile as part of the Student Exchange.  Her field of study is Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
