Fortenberry Calls for Expanding Access to Base Commissaries for Service-Disabled Veterans

Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today introduced the Disabled Veterans Commissary and Exchange Store Benefits Act. The legislation would allow all honorably discharged veterans with a compensable service-related disability, and their dependants, to use commissary and exchange stores located at military facilities. Currently only 100% service-related disabled veterans and their dependants have access to the commissaries and exchange stores.

"Our veterans and their families have sacrificed greatly," Fortenberry said. "This legislation makes good sense."
