The Visitors Services Center

Utah State CapitolThe Utah State Capitol Preservation Board, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor, the Senate and the House of Representatives offers docent-guided tours of the Capitol and other informative education programs, workshops and events throughout the year.

The Capitol Preservation Board also provides customized tours of the art of the Capitol, its architecture, the history of the building and its reconstruction and renovation. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the new Visitor Services Center on the first floor for information on tours and events.

Guided Tours Every Hour

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter and all state holidays.

Docent-Guided Tours for Students

We offer guided tours specifically for students.  Students will enjoy learning about Utah history, government, and the art and architecture of the Capitol.  Please visit the web site or contact the Visitor Services Center to schedule tours of the Capitol or to get helpful information about legislative activities, special events and advice on transportation.

Capitol Hours

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am - 6:00pm

Our docent program is run by volunteers and we honor their personal time during the holidays. Guided Tours will not be given November 26-28, December 22-26, and December 29 - January 2
