Success Dam Seismic Remediation Project

Success Dam is located on the Tule River, about 5 miles east and upstream of the town of Porterville, Tulare County, California. The Flood Control Act of 22 December 1944 authorized the Tule River Project, comprised of Success Dam and Reservoir. The Lake Success Project is a multi-purpose reservoir, with flood control, irrigation, recreation, and other uses. It is part of a system of dams and reservoirs providing flood protection to the Tulare Lakebed and adjacent areas from streams flowing westward out of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Success Dam is operated by the Sacramento District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
