Utility Management

Struggling with utility management challenges?  Sure you are – workforce issues, infrastructure renewal and replacement demands, other financial planning and asset management issues, that never-ending stream of regulations, or getting your computers to talk to each other (and even harder yet, getting your people to talk to each other), or setting rates and collecting bills and handling customer complaints.

Find a reliable source yet for some answers, solutions, and resources to help you meet these challenges?  Now you did – the American Water Works Association.

Whether you attend one of our Utility Management Conferences and Education events, or participate in one of our Utility Quality Programs, or tap into the vast resources of the emerging collaborative effort known as Effective Utility Management, AWWA is the place to get the information and assistance you need to meet your utility management needs.

Quality programs illustrated

As illustrated here, AWWA Utility Quality Programs utilize the Shewhart-Demming cycle of PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT to deliver the right tool (boxes outside the circles) depending upon the utility need. The outer circle (Readiness/Orientation) is the compass employed by utilities to define their need and direct them to the applicable tool. The next inward circle (Performance Indicators) identifies the key measurements used to judge performance and success in the quality journey.
