How Many Private Companies
Operate Fleets of 10 or More Vehicles?
- In
the Denver/Boulder area, there were an estimated 1,840 company-operated
motor-vehicle fleets that included 10 or more vehicles in 1995.
- The
overall size of the fleet market in the United States is of interest
to manufacturers and marketers that are targeting fleets as the early
market for alternative-fuel vehicles.
- While
data for the country as a whole are not available, it is interesting
to note that the Denver/Boulder area represents only one percent of
the total U.S. population. Thus, the total number of fleets in the country
could be 100 times the number found in this survey of Denver and Boulder.
