COCHRAN TO CHAIR TWO HOMELAND SECURITY APPROPRIATIONS HEARINGS NEXT WEEK

Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) will chair two hearings of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee next week.

On Tuesday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern) in room 124 Dirksen Senate Office Building, the Subcommittee will discuss the fiscal year 2004 budget needs for border and transportation security. Asa Hutchinson, Undersecretary for Border and Transportation Security, Department of Homeland Security, will testify before the Subcommittee.

On Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern) in room 124 Dirksen Senate Office Building, the Subcommittee will discuss the fiscal year 2004 budget needs for customs and border inspection, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Witnesses include: Robert Bonner, Commissioner, Customs and Border Inspection, Department of Homeland Security; Admiral James M. Loy, Administrator, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security; and Connie Patrick, Director, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Department of Homeland Security.
