House Bill Includes Wireless Technology for Minority-Serving Educational Institutions

Washington, DC) –Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the conference report on the H.R. 4137, the College Opportunity and Affordability Act of 2007.  House Committee on Science and Technology Chairman Bart Gordon (D-TN) and Subcommittee on Research and Science Education Chairman Brian Baird (D-WA) were conferees on the bill.

H.R. 4137, which reauthorizes the Higher Education Act, includes language from H.R. 694, the Minority Serving Institution Digital and Wireless Technology Opportunity Act of 2007.  H.R. 694 passed the House as a stand alone bill prior to being incorporated in H.R. 4137.
