Sali’s Effective Leadership Translates to Awards from Major Groups

July 3, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Sali recently received five major awards in recognition of his leadership in the 110th Congress.

“I am humbled to accept these awards and honored to receive recognition in standing up for Idahoans and our values,” said Sali.

Sali accepted the following awards:

  • “Hero of the Taxpayer” from Americans for Tax Reform. President of ATR, Grover Norquist, commented, “These Congressional Ratings allow taxpayers to see, when it comes to their hard-earned money, exactly who the heroes and the ‘Villains’ are in Congress. It is clear that Sali has proven to be a hero.”
  • “Guardian of Seniors' Rights” award for protecting Social Security and the "Benjamin Franklin Award" for supporting repeal of the onerous estate/death tax from the 60 Plus Association.

  • “Friend of the Shareholder” from the American Shareholders Association.  “Congressman Sali is a friend to every American earning a paycheck and putting money away for their retirement, for a home, or to start a small business,” said ASA Executive Director Ryan Ellis.
  •  “Guardian of Worker Freedom” from the Alliance for Worker Freedom. Executive Director Brian M. Johnson called Sali a “tremendous advocate for a twenty-first century workforce.”

“Idahoans can be assured that I will continue to fight to prevent tax increases, promote the interests of workers in a free and open market, and promote seniors’ interests,” said Sali.

This Congress Sali also received the Taxpayers’ Friend Award from the National Taxpayers Union, Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the True Blue Award from Focus on the Family.
