January 30th, 2008 - “Without This Legislation We Are Deaf And Blind”
TRANSCRIPT: “Last night the House and Senate passed a 15-day extension of the Terrorist Surveillance Act. This enables our intelligence community to listen in on conversations from terrorists overseas who are intent upon killing Americans here at home, our troops abroad, and our allies. This is an extremely important measure, we have to be able to find out what the terrorists are planning and I hope my colleagues will get serious about the need to pass this important legislation. Without this legislation we’re deaf and blind to communications from terrorists who are posing great threats. We have seen a number of instances where terrorists attacks in the United States have been stopped, they are continuing to come after us and we must use our best ability to prevent them from conducting those attacks.”
