Biography
Tony Ogden joined GPO in 2004 as the Assistant Inspector General for Administration and Inspections and Legislative Counsel. Before his appointment as Inspector General in May, 2007, Ogden was the Deputy Inspector General as well as Counsel to the Inspector General.
Ogden came to GPO from the Litigation and Compliance Counsel for the Tobacco Project at the National Association of Attorneys General, where he worked on economic issues arising from the Tobacco Master Settlement agreement, assisted states with enforcement matters, and coordinated state and Federal enforcement legislation on issues related to the Agreement.
Ogden is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado. He has also worked as an attorney in private practice, focusing on civil litigation, administrative law, and workers' compensation matters. His public service includes appointments to the Denver Public Safety Review Commission and Denver Mayor/Council Youth and Violence Task Force. Ogden has also conducted training in legal ethics.
Ogden is a 1984 honors graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1993 from the University of Denver, College of Law. Ogden is also an alumnus of the Leadership for a Democratic Society program at the Federal Executive Institute. |
