HATCH: MUKASEY WILL BE AN INDEPENDENT ATTORNEY GENERAL

Washington – Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) today issued the following statement regarding the confirmation of Judge Michael Mukasey to be Attorney General of the United States late last night.
“Michael Mukasey is a man of integrity, experience, and wisdom. He is what the Justice Department needs. I am confident the Justice Department he will lead will be more independent and less political than the confirmation process he just endured.”
