HATCH LAUDS PASSAGE OF FISA MODERNIZATION BILL
|
|
WASHINGTON – Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today issued the following statement after the passage of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act modernization (FISA): “I’m very pleased with the passage of this FISA bill, which is the most significant overhaul of our nation’s intelligence surveillance laws in more than three decades. It represents the most singular achievement by the 110th Congress. This bipartisan bill will help defeat terrorism and keep America safe. No, the legislation is not perfect, but it ensures that the increased expansion of the judiciary into foreign intelligence gathering doesn’t unnecessarily hamper our intelligence community.”
