Subject: Special Item Survey for WW II Posters
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Special Item Survey for WW II Posters GPO is conducting a special item selection survey to afford depository libraries the opportunity to select a series of World War II posters. The survey will be on the FDLP Desktop and run June 2 - 14, 2004. Link to the survey at: http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/fdlp/tools/04Survey-1.html. The National Geospatial - Intelligence Agency (NGA), formerly National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), is releasing 17 WW II posters to commemorate the opening of the new WW II Memorial to be dedicated Memorial Day weekend in Washington, D.C. These 17 cartographic and imagery displays demonstrate geospatial intelligence and are representative of the dispersed and varied locations around the world where WW II was fought. Images of the posters are available for viewing from the survey form. Libraries wishing to select these posters must accept the entire package of 17 (size 16 x 24). The estimated shipping date to depository libraries is mid June 2004. These will be in the general posters class D 3.215: Posters (P) under item 0379-A-15. Regional depository libraries need not respond to the survey, as the item number will be added automatically to their selection profile. SURVEY MUST BE COMPLETED BY JUNE 14, 2004: http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/fdlp/tools/04Survey-1.html The World War II posters will also be available through the U.S. Government Online Bookstore for $7.50 each.
