Hoyer Test Drives Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car, Will Roll Out Comprehensive Energy Legislation in Coming Days

BOWIE, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today test drove a hydrogen fuel cell car at Walker Pontiac Buick GMC in Bowie. “Hydrogen fuel cells have the tremendous potential to power vehicles without greenhouse gas emissions, one of the leading causes of global warming,” Hoyer said. “Investing in alternative energy sources is important for Maryland’s environment, economy, and security.” (RELATED LINK)

Hoyer Congratulates Two Students from the 5th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today met with 5th Congressional District students Moriah E. Morgan and Cassie Wilson to recognize their unique and significant achievements. During National Safety Month, Hoyer Tours Summer Youth Programs at YMCA in Ft. Washington

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today visited YMCA’s Prince George’s County headquarters in Ft. Washington to observe its summer youth programs and discuss the importance of giving kids productive opportunities to learn, be active, and stay out of trouble. (RELATED LINK)

Eighteen Local Students Offered Appointments to U.S. Service Academies

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today hosted a congratulatory tea on Capitol Hill for students from the Fifth Congressional District (Charles, Calvert, St. Mary’s and areas of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties) that were offered appointments to a U.S. Service academy this year. A list of the 18 students who received appointment offers along with the name of their high school is attached. (RELATED LINK)

Hoyer Attends 19th Annual Wade in With Bernie Fowler

CALVERT COUNTY –Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) attended former State Senator Bernie Fowler’s 19th Annual “Wade In" on June 11, 2006. The Wade In was started by Fowler as an unscientific but telling manner of gauging the water quality of the Patuxent River.
