Sen. Salazar Statement on Resignation of Sen. Trent Lott

WASHINGTON, DC- Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement after United State Senator Trent Lott announced his decision to resign from the U.S. Senate at the end of this year.

“Senator Trent Lott has proudly served the people of Mississippi for the last 34 years. During that time, he has made history by serving as Republican leader in the Senate and as the party’s Whip in both the House and Senate. In his various roles, he has revered and upheld the history and tradition of the institution of the Senate. It has been an honor to serve with him the last few years and he will be greatly missed.”
