I am looking for a student with a strong interest and background in both technology and politics to work with all of my Congressional Offices, including the Office of the Majority Leader. This internship is a unique opportunity to learn the complex technical environment of Capitol Hill. An environment that is continually changing with new technologies, vendors, etc. Although this is an unpaid position, we will work with schools to arrange for credits to be earned. The position is for 2-3 days per week, for a semester or summer. Responsibilities would include: - website design
- graphical design
- network administration
- audio/video editing
- new software testing and deployment
- new hardware/electronics testing and deployment
An applicant must meet following qualifications: - strong interest and some college-level education in technology AND politics
- in-depth knowledge of HTML
- experience with some programming
- in-depth knowledge of following software:
- Microsoft Windows 2000, XP
- Microsoft Server NT, 2000, 2003
- Microsoft Office XP, 2003
- Corel WordPerfect Suite
- Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop
