Before traveling overseas,
it is always a good idea to become familiar with the health and
safety conditions at your destination. The
Department of States web page provides country-specific
travel tips for many regions of the world and consular
information sheets with descriptions of entry requirements,
availability of medical services, traffic safety and road conditions,
and other similarly useful information. Also available are up-to-date
travel
warnings posted by the Department of State advising Americans
about unsafe travel conditions.
Of course, when Americans travel overseas, it is
wise that they have in their possession a valid passport.
Passport
information, including application forms and instructions,
is available online on the Department of State web page.
It is important to remember that applications for
new passports must be submitted in person at the nearest passport
acceptance facility. Renewals of unexpired passports may be requested
by mail.
I submitted my application for a passport
several weeks ago, and Im leaving on my trip soon. Why havent
I received my passport yet?"
The San Francisco Passport Agency processes
passport applications filed by U.S. citizens residing in Arizona.
Senator Kyl can contact the Passport Agency to check on the status
of the passport if the normal processing time has elapsed. If
you need an expedited passport, you can pay additional fees for
processing and for express delivery to and from the passport facility.
