Sen. Salazar: "With a New Chapter for America, Our Work Begins"

Denver, CO – Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement regarding the 2008 Election:

“I am proud of our country and of Colorado. This historic, transformational election is a testament to the strength of our democracy and the hopeful spirit of Americans, who want to turn the page and restore the promise of America. By casting their ballots, they made their voices heard: Americans are tired of the ideological, partisan leadership of the past and want problem-solvers who will work together, across the aisle, to put our country back on track.

“I look forward to working with President-elect Obama, his administration, and with my new colleagues in the Colorado congressional delegation, including Senator-elect Mark Udall, to lead our country through these tough times. It will take all of us - Democrats and Republicans - to put our economy back on track, fix our broken health care system, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, defeat those who would do us harm, and restore America’s standing in the world. With leadership, with unity, and with a shared commitment to solving the problems we face, America’s best days lie ahead.”
