Sen. Salazar's Statement on Interior Department Scandal

WASHINGTON, DC – United States Senator Ken Salazar issued the following statement regarding a report issued today detailing unethical and potentially criminal conduct by Federal employees responsible for collecting royalties from companies that produce oil and gas from public lands:

“This is a disgraceful breach of public trust. The conduct detailed in this report shows a culture of corruption at a government agency that should be serving the public interest. The Department should immediately take action to comply with the recommendations of the Inspector General’s report and fully commit themselves to regaining the trust of the American people.”

For copies of the Department of Interior Inspector General’s report, please contact Senator Salazar’s press office.
