Sen. Salazar Requests Hearing on Consensus U.S. District Court Nominees
DENVER, CO – Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to consider the U.S. District Court nominations of Christine Arguello and Gregory Goldberg in a nominations hearing that has been scheduled for next week. Ms. Arguello and Mr. Goldberg were nominated by President Bush to fill two of three vacancies on the U.S. District Court in Colorado. Both Ms. Arguello and Mr. Goldberg were recommended to the White House by Senator Salazar and Senator Wayne Allard. Sen. Salazar’s recommendations were based on the advice of the bipartisan Judicial Nominations Advisory Commission that he convened in January to review applications for the vacancies on the U.S. District Court. Sen. Salazar’s letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee can be seen here. The text is below.
