Salazar Statement on Memorial Day WASHINGTON, DC – United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement in recognition of Memorial Day, which is observed on Monday. “On Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the courage of all those who have given their lives in service to our nation. And while we must never forget the sacrifice of the fallen, we must also remember to honor the sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve as members of America’s Armed Forces across the globe. As we gather with friends and family this Memorial Day weekend, let us not forget that the true purpose of this day is to pay tribute to all the men and women who have put their lives on the line to serve the cause of freedom." ###
