Sen. Salazar Statement on Economic Stimulus Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement in response to an agreement between House Leadership and the President on an economic stimulus plan. The Senate Finance Committee will mark up an economic stimulus package next week.

"Our economy is on thin ice.  Congress is working swiftly to craft a package designed to help struggling families and jumpstart our economy.  As the Senate moves forward on an economic stimulus package, I remain committed to two goals: working quickly to put money into the pockets of consumers who will spend it quickly, and promoting efforts to shore up our economy in the longer term, such as strengthening business investment, investing in infrastructure, and addressing the national housing crisis. With those goals in mind, I will continue to work in the Senate Finance Committee to get our economy back on the right track."
