SEN SALAZAR CONGRATULATES DEPARMENT ON $7.4 MILLION PREPAREDNESS GRANT

DENVER, CO – U.S. Senator Ken Salazar congratulates Colorado State Department of Public Health and Environment on the 7.4 million dollar grant it will receive for their Bioterrorism - Hospital Preparedness program for technical assistance. The grant is awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services who announced the award earlier today.

Of the award Senator Salazar said, “From the survey I conducted earlier this year I know that our first responders are not feeling prepared for a major terrorist incident. I hope this grant will enable Colorado to move forward in doing the planning and training necessary as well as purchase essential equipment needed to best protect our communities.”
