Emerson, Bond: Delta Regional Authority Grants to Benefit Southern Missouri

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) and U.S. Senator Kit Bond today announced several grants from the Delta Regional Authority to Southern Missouri municipalities for infrastructure improvements and public projects.
 
“The Delta Regional Authority is a valuable partner working to improve rural communities in Southern Missouri.  I am very proud of the opportunities they have identified to invest in the people and businesses of our region, and I appreciate the solid support of Kit Bond for these same efforts.  These grants are going to go a long way in our congressional district,” Emerson said.  “By helping attract employers and creating jobs, DRA really bolsters our local economy.”
 
“Building our nation’s infrastructure is one of the most important investments we can make for future generations,” stated Kit Bond. “These DRA investments, along with state and local commitments, open new doors to economic development for present and future businesses and industry for these Southeast Missouri communities.”
 
The Delta Regional Authority will partner in the following projects in Missouri’s Eighth Congressional District:
 
$235,000 – City of Potosi – municipal water storage and distribution system improvements
 
$135,500 – New Madrid Port Authority – new railroad track to service United Agri-Produicts
 
$8,800 – Bootheel Regional Planning Commission – earthquake preparedness software
 
$100,000 – City of Dexter – infrastructure improvements to accommodate the expansion of Emcon Technologies
 
$200,000 – City of East Prairie – storm sewer culvert system replacement
 
$60,000 – Perry County – road improvements at the Beelman River Terminal
