Kyl Statement on 9/11 Anniversary

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl (Ariz.) today made the following statement regarding the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

“Today America remembers the first casualties of a war declared on us by terrorists. We are reminded of the brutality and evil of our enemy and the need for Americans to remain united in our fight against terrorists.

“Some argue that the nation is less safe today. But there hasn’t been another terrorist attack on American soil in the past seven years, which is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our intelligence community and national security organizations, as well as our brave men and women in uniform who fight terrorists overseas so that the fight isn’t brought here. Today, we remember the victims of 9/11, and also honor the dedication and sacrifices of those who keep our country safe.”
