Today I held a housing roundtable in Spokane with experts from housing authorities, banks, mortgage companies, homebuilders, realtors and individuals who have been personally affected by the mortgage crisis.  

I heard heartbreaking testimony from Louise Stamper, who lost her house after enduring a serious accident. She provided a compelling story of how difficult it is for the working poor to keep their homes if any unforseen expenses arise.
