In Washington, D.C., Senator Murray spoke to local housing officials from across the country at a meeting of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. The audience included more than two dozen leaders from Washington state, who greeted Senator Murray as she arrived.

Senator Murray said that the President’s budget proposal would cut funding for housing and community development.

“Housing for the elderly is cut by 26 percent, while housing for the disabled is cut by 50 percent. Friends, that is a misguided budget. We can do better,” Senator Murray said.
