Trade Adjustment Benefits

Senator Rockefeller has aggressively pursued legislation to assist American workers who have been displaced from their jobs or whose company was relocated overseas - also known as Trade Adjustment Assistance or TAA. Rockefeller fought to help American workers by sponsoring an amendment to expand TAA to include a 65 percent tax credit for temporary health benefits, in addition to the job training and relocation assistance already offered. And, Rockefeller continues to introduce legislation to increase the tax credit to 95 percent of a displaced worker's benefits. He will continue to fight to make the needed improvements in the TAA health benefit.
