By developing technologies that utilize cleaner burning fuels, America can decrease harmful pollutants in our atmosphere. By combining American ingenuity with an abundant supply of natural resources, our nation will be more secure.
Senator Sessions has worked tirelessly to help Alabama receive over $51 million in federal environmental funding from the Department of Interior through the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP). This funding represents a huge first step toward recognizing the important role that states such as Alabama play in fueling our growing economy.
Nuclear power is the most environmentally friendly component of America's current energy portfolio. Over 20% of United States electricity is currently produced by nuclear power plants. America can begin to end its dependence on foreign oil only by developing alternative fuels and increasing domestic oil and gas production. By spurring investment in new technologies, we can develop alternative energies here at home and bring jobs back to rural America.
