MECS Definitions of Offsite-Produced Fuel


Offsite-Produced Fuel Consumption
 : All energy used for heat, power, and electricity generation that is :

  1. purchased by the establishment; or
  2. transferred from offsite into the establishment.

     Not included are feedstocks and onsite-produced energy.  Included is offsite-produced electricity, defined as:

    the sum of quantities of electricity that are :

  1. purchased; and
  2. transferred in.

     Not included is any type of onsite electricity generation, such as cogeneration and generation from
     noncombustible renewable resources.
