Alexander, Corker Joint Statement on Senate Confirmation of TVA Board Member

March 14th, 2008 - U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., made the following statement this morning after the full Senate confirmed Thomas C. Gilliland to serve on the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Board of Directors:

“We’re pleased the Senate has confirmed the President’s nomination of Thomas Gilliland, who should be an outstanding TVA Board member. There’s no reason why the Democratic Leader of the Senate should not also soon agree to confirm the President’s reappointment of two excellent current Board members, Susan Williams and Bishop William Graves.”
