Claims Process The benefit claims process can be time consuming and frustrating for veterans. Knowing that this is one of the biggest problems within the VA, Senator Rockefeller has worked hard to improve the claims process. Senator Rockefeller was instrumental in passing the Veterans' Claims Assistance Act, which required the VA to take needed steps in assisting veterans with claims. Thanks to Senator Rockefeller, the Secretaries of Navy and Air assigned additional staff to the Armed Services Center for Unit Records Research (CURR) to help speed up the processing of veterans' disabilities claims. Throughout the years, Rockefeller has continued to press the VA to move more quickly and provide our veterans with the benefits they deserve. In addition to the services offered by many Veterans Service Organizations, Senator Rockefeller has caseworkers in all of his West Virginia Offices who can help with particular claims.
