Final resting place for thousands of American soldiers, sailors, and airmen. Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier occurs every hour on the hour; every half hour during the summer months.

Tours include a brief walk through a hallway with windows that overlook the printing presses. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing produces over $70 billion each year, in addition to stamps. Tour tickets are required March - August, available during the morning hours on a first-come, first-serve basis. For September - February, self-guided tours run every 15 minutes from 9:00 am until 10:45 am and 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm.

Private tours are also available through my office. These congressional tours are Monday through Friday at 8:15 am, 8:45 am, and 4:00 pm during May through August. All tours last approximately 40 to 50 minutes.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

Korean War Memorial

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress occupies three buildings on Capitol Hill. The Library, an unparalleled world resource, contains more than 138 million items. Tours are 60 minutes, from the Jefferson Building. Public tours are available Monday through Saturday at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm (no 3:30pm tour on Saturdays). 

Private tours may be booked through my office and are available Monday through Friday at either 8:30am or 1:45pm. Private tours last approximately 50 minutes.

Dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in the defense of the United States since 1775. Memorial depicts flag being raised on Mount Suribachi during World War II.

National Cathedral

Naval Observatory

Tours will include a presentation of the Mission and History of the Naval Observatory, a view of the development of Observatory's timekeeping responsibilities with a member of the Time Service Department staff, and (weather permitting) viewing of celestial objects with the 12-inch Alvan Clark refractor with an Astronomer. Tour passes distributed on first-come, first-serve basis. Requests for reservations should be submitted at least 4 - 6 weeks before a scheduled tour.

Supreme Court

"Equal Justice Under Law." Seats available for Court proceedings on a first-come, first-served basis when in session. Beginning in mid-September 2008, courtroom lectures are available every hour on the half hour when the Court is not in session.

Private lecture tours can be reserved through my office. They are available for groups with less than five people or more than twenty-four people, Monday - Friday at 2:00 pm, when the Court is not in session.

Treasury Building

This Greek Revival style building houses the office of the Secretary of the Treasury. Advance reservations are required and must be made through a Congressional office. Tours are available at this time for citizens and legal residents of the United States. The name, date of birth and social security number for each visitor must be provided when making a reservation. In addition, everyone must have a photo I.D. to gain admittance to the building on the date of their scheduled tour.

U.S. Capitol

Guided public tours are available Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the kiosk located at the Southwest Corner of the Capitol (near the Botanical Gardens). Staff led congressional tours may be reserved through my office and are available Monday through Friday. These private tours last approximately one hour.

You may also visit the U.S. Senate and/or House Galleries overlooking the chambers. Gallery passes are available through my office on days that the Senate is in session.

The White House
As of September 16, 2003, the White House has expanded tours of the Executive Residence to include parties of 10 or more people requesting a tour through their Member of Congress. These parties of 10 or more may request a tour of the White House regardless of age or type of group. All tours are self-guided although tour officers are positioned throughout the White House to help answer questions and provide interesting information. Tours are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please note, however, that tour schedules are always dependent upon official events taking place in the White House, and it may be necessary to deviate from the regular tour schedule, causing occasional changes in the time of a tour or a tour to be rescheduled for a future date. Please contact our office to schedule a tour at least 1 month in advance, but no more than 6 months in advance.
