Dodd, Lieberman Congratulate Trumbull High Marching Band for Place in Inaugural Parade
December 5, 2008

Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) congratulated the Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching band on being chosen to represent the State of Connecticut in the 56th Inaugural Parade in January. Trumbull High School was chosen from more than 1300 organizations who submitted application to participate in the parade.

“Given the historic nature of this year’s inauguration, I was pleased to learn that Connecticut will have such an able and dedicated group of young people representing us as the world watches,” said Dodd. “I know the Golden Eagles have worked very hard and deserve this recognition.  I’m looking forward to hearing them play come January.”

“This is a tremendous honor for the highly accomplished Golden Eagle Marching Band," said Senator Lieberman. "I am proud that such a talented group of Nutmeggers will represent our state and I hope each student is rewarded with invaluable memories from this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

The Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band is made up of 104 members, 25 color guard performers, and one drum major. The band has many achievements to its name including representing Connecticut in George W. Bush’s first Inaugural Parade in 2001. The band has also performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade, and Florida’s Citrus Bowl Parade.
