SUBJECT: Authenticated FY09 President's Budget of the United States Government Available from GPO Access

For the first time, the electronic version of the FY 2009 Budget on GPO Access is digitally signed and certified. The Government Printing Office (GPO) and the Office of Management and Budget have collaborated on the transmission of the electronic files. GPO has signed and certified the online Portable Document Format (PDF) files to assure users of the authenticity of the documents. These signatures not only establish GPO as the trusted information disseminator, but also provide the assurance that the electronic PDF documents have not been altered since GPO disseminated them. The public can search and browse the President's Budget of the United States Government, FY09 on GPO Access at, http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/index.html. FY09 Budget documents are available in ASCII text and digitally signed PDF, with many of the tables also available for separate viewing and downloading as digitally signed PDF and spreadsheets in xls and comma delimited formats. The President's Budget of the United States Government for fiscal years 1996 through 2008 are also available on GPO Access.

Copies of the President's Budget of the United States Government, FY09 are available for purchase from the U.S. Government Online Bookstore at http://bookstore.gpo.gov/collections/budget.jsp and consist of 4 books and 1 CD-ROM.
