Sen. Hutchison Congratulates Arlington, Houston for Being Awarded Future Final Fours
Sen. Hutchison Cites “Outstanding Bids” and Major “Economic Impact”

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R–TX), Texas’ senior Senator, today congratulated the cities of Arlington and Houston for being awarded the men’s basketball Final Four today by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at an announcement at their headquarters in Indianapolis.

The new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington will host the 2014 men’s basketball Final Four. Reliant Stadium in Houston will host the same event in 2016. Reliant Stadium was already announced as the host of the Final Four in 2011.

“This announcement is a tribute to the outstanding bids offered by these cities and will provide a major economic impact to Arlington and Houston, and to the State of Texas,” said Sen. Hutchison.

The 2004 Final Four, hosted in San Antonio, brought in $55 million in direct economic activity for the city.
