Sen. Hutchison Announces Over $300,000 in Texas Fire Grants 3 Texas Cities to Receive DHS Funding for Operations and Safety
WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced more than $300,000 in U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) for Texas firefighters and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel to improve overall preparedness and first response capabilities.
“These DHS fire grants will provide our brave firefighters and EMS responders with the additional resources they need to save lives,” Sen. Hutchison said. “This funding will help these men and women better prepare for emergency response and recovery in our communities.”
The following organizations will receive funding:

According to DHS, the funding can be used to train and equip personnel, purchase personal protective equipment, and make health and safety modifications to stations and facilities.
