WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’ senior senator, today announced that a $400,008 research grant has been awarded to The University of Texas at Austin by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
“These NSF funds will help expand our understanding of science and technology as UT continues its leading efforts in research and education,” Sen. Hutchison said.
The grant funding will support a project entitled “CAREER: Protecting Privacy in Untrusted Environments,” which is under the direction of Dr. Vitaly Shmatikov, Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences.
Sen. Hutchison is a senior member of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, which authorizes the NSF, and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, which sets the NSF budget.
