SENATE HOMELAND SECURITY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE REQUESTS EXTENSIVE GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS FOR HURRICANE KATRINA INVESTIGATION
 
WASHINGTON, DC—As part of the Committee’s investigation into Hurricane Katrina, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Susan Collins and Ranking Member Joseph Lieberman have requested an extensive list of government documents related to planning for and response to the hurricane.

Senators Collins and Lieberman have requested documents from the States of Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Department of Defense, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Department of Commerce.

Copies of the document requests are posted on the Committee’s website: www.hsgac.senate.gov.
