Press Release of Senator Lugar Indiana Receives $10 Million for Highway Storm Repair Thursday, October 23, 2008 U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar was notified today of a $10,420,012 Department of Transportation grant for highways damaged by the June 2008 storms.   The funds are part of an emergency relief plan and will be used to repair highways in areas most heavily damaged by the storms in Congressional Districts 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9. The grant covers emergency repairs to bring traffic flow to normal and permanent repairs to restore the highways to the state they were in before they were damaged by storms between May 30 and June 8. (A map of the Congressional Districts is available at http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/pdf/congdist/pagecgd110_in.pdf.)   On June 9, Senator Lugar led an Indiana Congressional Delegation letter in support of Governor Daniels' request for federal assistance.
