Sen. Sessions Challenges Presidential Candidates on Immigration

WASHINGTON – In a major speech at The Heritage Foundation today, U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, the leading Senate advocate for creating a lawful system of immigration in America, challenged 2008 presidential candidates to commit to a series of specific actions to restore law and order to America’s broken immigration system.

Sessions cited poll data indicating that “illegal immigration” will influence 80 percent of primary voters as they cast their vote. Sessions argued that the candidates can demonstrate credibility on the issue of illegal immigration by committing to take the 15 steps he outlined in the speech.
