Appleton, WI -- Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D is urging the current and incoming administrations and congressional leaders to uphold the country-of-origin-labeling provision that was signed into law earlier this year as part of the Farm Bill.  Kagen sent the following letter to President George W. Bush, President-Elect Barack Obama, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer:


KAGEN SEEKS FUNDING FOR CLEANING UP THE GREAT LAKES AND CREATING GREEN JOBS

APPLETON, WI -- Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. is working hard to clean up our Great Lakes while stimulating our economy.  Kagen joined his colleagues in sending a letter to Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader Boehner urging them to provide $194 million for the Great Lakes Legacy Act, $10 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and $140 million for the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act in the January stimulus package.
