STATEMENT OF SENATOR CHRIS DODD ON HOUSE/SENATE AGREEMENT ON ACCOUNTING LEGISLATION

The current problems in the market call for tough medicine, not 'watered down' reform. That's why I'm pleased to see the House finally step up to the plate and agree to the stronger and tougher Senate legislation. I'm also pleased that the President - who's been sitting on the sidelines for far too long - has signaled that he'll sign the legislation. We absolutely need to enact this legislation as soon as possible to try to heal our economic ills.
