Dreier To Remain Top Rules Committee Republican in 111th Congress

December 12, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA) will continue to be the Ranking Republican on the House Rules Committee in the 111th Congress.  Dreier said he hopes to focus on economic growth in the coming Congress.

“I am honored to continue serving on the Rules Committee,” Dreier said.  “With every major issue confronting the Congress coming before us, we have the opportunity to shape and discuss the legislation that affects Americans’ everyday lives.  From my seat as Ranking Republican, I will continue to fight for policies that will get our economy growing again and help working families get through these difficult times.”

Congressman Dreier said he will also be focused on addressing the issues important to the Foothills including the economic downturn, transportation, and maintaining a safe, reliable groundwater supply.  “The challenges facing the Foothills are diverse, but working in a bipartisan way, I look forward to taking them on.”

Congressman Dreier has been the top Republican on the Rules Committee since 1999.  This will be his second Congress as Ranking Republican.  He also serves as Chairman of the California GOP Congressional Delegation.
