Inauguration Day - January 20, 2009
2009 Inaugural Events How to Apply for Inaugural Tickets
Tickets for the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony will be distributed in January 2009 by both Senators and Representatives of the 111th Congress. Due to the limited number of tickets allocated to each office, requests to Senator Graham’s office have exceeded his allotment and Senator Graham is not able to take ticket requests at this time. There will be a public viewing area on the National Mall for those constituents who wish to attend but were unable to obtain tickets to the inaugural ceremony.
For more information about Inauguration Day, please visit the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies website.
Attending an Inaugural Ball
The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC)—established after the November election—is responsible for all balls and galas hosted in honor of the newly-elected President.
Tickets to the South Carolina Presidential Inaugural Ball can be purchased from the South Carolina State Society of Washington, D.C.
How to Participate in the Inaugural Parade
Requests to participate in Inauguration day events for marching bands, marching units, mounted units, and other performers are collected by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee.
